Iris Lei - President, SVIBA
Ms Iris Lei has been actively contributing to SVIBA for over 6 years. She started her activities as a regular member in SVIBA, she successfully led the China Business Exchange Group including leading Silicon Valley VCs and entrepreneurs to participate China Hi-tech Fair in Shenzhen, 2003.
Like most of our members, Iris is an entrepreneur. She start her own business after she met her business partners in SVIBA. She is a co- founder of two companies. Iris used to work as a web developer at Keane, Inc., a public IT consulting company.
Iris received her M.S. degree from Marshall Business School of University of Southern California, and her B.A. degree from Wuhan University in China.
Tong Liu - CTO, SVIBA
Tong Liu is a senior software design engineer at Hewlett-Packard. Before joining HP, he was a technical member of the Scalable Systems Group at Dell Inc. During his professional career, Tong has received numerous awards in recognition of his distinguished technology contribution, excellent teamwork, and customer relationship. He has published more than 20 publications and patents on Linux cluster management, High-Availability HPC clusters, and enterprise-level system management. Tong also serves as a program committee member of many international conferences on Linux cluster computing.
Besides his full-time job, Tong has great passion to devote this time and energy to the professional organizations at Bay Area. He will serve SVIBA as CTO and he has already helped to organize a series of events for SVIBA successfully.
Tong has an M.S. in Computer Science from Louisiana Tech University .
Kenneth Cing - CFO
Kenneth Ching is an international Controller of NeoPhotonics and Board of Director of Shenzhen Photon Broadband Technology CO. LTD. He has 16 years of progressive experiences in financial management, Accounting and Auditing. He has proven controllership and supervisory experience in auditing, financial reporting, general ledger, revenue and management account. He successfully completed the CHINA to US GAAP conversion of three China subsidiaries, and he effectively integrated post-merger accounting processes for three China and four US acquisitions. He coordinates PRE-IPO audit of China subsidiaries and the US headquarter with Big 4 auditors. He likes to serve SVIBA as treasurer and like to be mentor or help entrepreneurs for their financial need.
Karen Cai - VP of Membership
Karen Cai is Board of Director of SCEA (Silicon Valley Chinese Engineers Associations) currently. She organized many sports and social events such as weekend lunches, Thanksgiving dinners, managed seminars, Skiing events and other activities. She is outgoing, have great passion for life, and enjoy helping others through associations and social activities. She also loves to participate in group events such as hiking, skiing, and traveling. She won the first Prize in Bay Area Chinese Sports competition Ping-Pong competition, singles and team categories and won many other competitions in National Day cup in track and badminton. She was the First Winner Lanzhou Children's Ping-Pong competition, second prize in Youth competition, and a member of National professional Ping-Pong team Principal Player.
She graduated from North West Normal University Physical Education. She used to work as Instructor in East China Jiao Tong University Sports department in China
Ying Wan - VP of SVIBA, China Business Exchange
Ying Wan is working Citi Group as a financial analyst. Before joining Citi Group, she worked as a financial analyst at Silicon Valley Bank and worked as a business planning analyst at Citigroup in Texas . Ying became an active volunteer in SVIBA since she moved to Bay area in 2006. Her enthusiasm towards serving the Chinese community soon led her to SVIBA.
Ying received her Master in Finance degree from University of Texas and BS from Sichuan University .
Christina Jiang - VP of Business Development
Christina Jiang has numerous connections with venture capitalists, angel investors in Silicon Valley and China , in particular close access to China Ministry of Information Industry (MII) and its investment branches. In addition to that she also has effective channels for Intellectual Property application approval and litigation settlement in China .
Christina was the Client Program Director of Teleplan International (US), a leading global provider of After Sales Services to the IT and Telecommunications industry. She led a team in developing business with Telecom and PC OEMs in Taiwan and China . Prior to joining Teleplan, Christina was a Senior Product Marketing Manager at Opix Network, Inc., a subsidiary of Foxconn, where she led strategic planning and business development for China market.
Before settling in Silicon Valley, Christina worked for multi-national telecom companies (Ericsson, Symmertricom, Inc,) in China , serving as product marketing manager, project manager. While working for Ericsson, She headed a successful campaign in China for NGN (Next Generation Network Solutions), which directly resulted in multi-million dollar contracts with China Telecom and China Mobile. Prior to that, she worked for MII for 8 years, through which she established firm connections with all MII organizations, and most of the major Telecom service operators, internet service/content providers in China . Those connections also enable her to know the latest Telecom and internet industry evolution trend and latest government policies in China .
Christina graduated with honor from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, majoring in computer science.
Steve Jiang - VP of Networking
Steve Jiang is a veteran DSP/Communications engineer with many years experience in wire-line and wireless communications, and semiconductor industry, his experience include voice band modem chip set, xdsl modem chip set and cellular phone modem chip set development either as a team member or team leader, he has two US patent granted and three pending, now he is working with a couple of partners trying to start his own business.
He is also very active in community to serve VP of Operation for SVIBA. He likes golf, tennis, hiking and all kinds of outdoor activity, and helps organize
some golf events.
Julian Xue - VP of Sponsorship
Julian is working as director of Pre-paid Legal Service Inc, specialize in business and group benefit. She provides the resources of business consultant and legal service for the small business owners. She got well trained on marketing, and she had good records of achievements on sales and marketing in her business experiences. Her previous background was manager in accounting and lingustics teaching. She loves to be involved some social activities to serve SVIBA as VP of Sponsorship.
