Datong Chen is a Co-Founder and CTO of SpreadTrum Communication Inc., a silicon valley based start-up which designs and provides IC chipset for 2.5G and 3G cellular phone system. He also co-founded OmniVision Tech in 1995, which is a pioneer and now a leading provider of CMOS image sensor (for digital camera), and lead the company went to public in 2000. In recent years, he invested more than 10 start up companies in both US and China, and help them to grow healthily. He worked in National Semiconductor from 92 to 95 and held more than 20 patents so far.

He received BS(82), MS(84) and Ph.D(87) degrees from EE department, Tsinghua University, and then, went to University of Illinois and Stanford University as post-doctoral researcher.
